Home sales in New Bern N.C
So, how are home sale in New Bern and Craven County so far in 2014? Lets take a look.
January 2014=55 sold. Average sales price=$157,000
January 2013=67 sold. Average sales price=$169,000
January 2012=45 sold. Average sales price=$139,000
January 2011=64 sold. Average sales price=$156,000
January 2010=59 sold. Average sales price=$192,000
January 2009=40 sold. Average sales price=$213,000
The pie chart below shows all sales in Craven, Pamlico, and Jones County. Notice that 75% of home sales were under $200,000.
Traditionally January is the usually the slowest month of the year for home sales so it is a little early to draw any conclusions from this data. One thing I will be watching closely this year are bank owned sales and new home sales. I am predicting a decrease in foreclosures this year and in January 2014 there was one less bank owned sale than were sold in January 2013. During this same time there were 5 less new homes sold than last year.
